This is a Winter Weather Advisory

Looks like we might be getting an inch of snow.

QUICK! Call out the National Guard! Get batteries and bottled water at the store! Seriously, people freak out over the smallest things. Really my only gripe is that the media in this town uses the term "winter storm" way too much and way too loosely. Tonight on the 6 o'clock news Pete Grigsby had a graphic up for Friday night that said "light snow and little to no accumulation." The title of the graphic? That's right. "Next Winter Storm". Sorry, that's not a winter storm. A winter storm is where you get at least A inch of snow and/or ice. Y'know, power's out everywhere, driving is crazy (like this morning when I literally skated from 146th Terrace to 143rd Street), school's out, etc. School's for another blog. Those kids get out for anything nowadays.

p.s. For all the republicans who heart Bush and won't come to grips with the fact that there's a problem with the atmosphere - when I was a kid I remember one really bad ice storm and that was in '85 or '83, somewhere around there. Now we get at least one every year. That and we used to get a TON more snow. Inconvenient truth my friends, an inconvenient truth.
